The Blue Anchor British Pub
The Blue Anchor British Pub on Delray Beach, Florida’s exciting Atlantic Avenue, was imported piece by glorious piece from Chancery Lane, London, where it had stood since 1865. The old pub was pulled down to make way for a car park (what else?) and shipped across The Pond to Delray Beach, which is a restaurant and festival mecca in Palm Beach County.
Owner Lee Harrison hails from Merseyside and has lived in the States since 1973. He was imported by the National Enquirer as a senior staff reporter and later because the editor of The National Examiner, another tabloid.
When he was fired in 1995, he turned to the only other interest he ever had! He opened a British pub in the Tropics!
He and the Blue Anchor have never looked back. And the pub is now a landmark in Delray Beach.
